In addition to meeting the qualifications that belong to the job, it is also important that you speak English at least at language level B2, but preferably at language level C1.
People with language level B2 can understand articles and reports related to their own areas of interest and expertise. The same applies to texts about contemporary problems. They can also usually understand literary prose, as long as it is contemporary.
People with language level C1 can understand long and complicated texts. These include both factual and literary texts, even if these texts are about a subject on which they themselves are not specialists. Sometimes they have to read a passage again. They also appreciate a change in style, for example a mix of short and long sentences.
